Family and medical leave is critical to support healthy families and healthy lives. These programs must be culturally responsive to the various family makeups. Healthy families will positively affect workers and ultimately benefit employers, as well. When we begin to ensure our families are healthy, we can positively begin affecting other areas of our daily lives such as education, health, economy, crime deterrence, etc.
